LATEPACKERS such a modest name, our team. Initiated in year 1997 by a few of ex-IIUM, graduates and formally registered with Registrar of Society on 30th May 2002

LATEPACKERS, is a team for recreation & adventure enthusiast particularly to the ex-Adventure & Recreational Club, IIUM. Now, LATEPACKERS not only mean only to the IIUM graduates, but the public at large are most welcome to join us in exploring the nature.

The prime objective of the formation of the club is to be the platform to the ex-IIUM to continue our devotion towards the adventure based activities especially on mountaineering.

The club also functions as an avenue to gather our big family of ARC IIUM after everyone gone by their own direction upon graduation.

Our mission - We strive to uphold the good value and ethic in recreation - on our manners and conduct as well as the principles of preserving our natural habitats. -- We aim to go to the highest level of adventure.

We started our base in year 1984 with the formation of ARC IIUM then we struggle to develop our club since then the best achievement was when the National Nuang Challenge emerged in year 1994. It was our annual program and became one of the toughest climbathon races in Malaysia.  Some of other significant programs organized were National Wall Climbing Competition 1998, National Nuang Challenge 1994-2002, Mount Kerinchi and Merapi Expedition, Mount Kinabalu, Trusmadi, Tambuyukon, Mulu, Niah and Brunei Expedition as well as mountain conquest all around in Malaysia. One of our prominent members, Bro Aimy Zairin was one of the Everest 97 team.

We also act as adventure consultants to government agencies, colleges and IPTA/IPTS, schools, corporate bodies and NGOs. We provide specialized services as adventure project manager such as organizing mountaineering and recreational trip all around Malaysia.

We also provide adventure tour and packages according to our yearly plan and other programs on demand. Our fee is minimal, as we not focus the return as our main aim. The satisfaction, enjoyment as well as your safety is much meaningful for us. Our personnel are certified, well trained and experienced; some have been more than 16 years in field.

Ordinary membership of the club is open to IIUM graduates regardless of year of graduation.

The Affiliates memberships are open to public other than IIUM graduates. The application of joining as member must be approved by the board of the club and fulfilled the basic requirement of admission.

Our programs are open to public. Your participation is most appreciated and welcome to our BIG FAMILY OF LATEPACKERS!!!
